How do I calculate the door size I need for my rough opening?

Double doors need four inches on the sides and two inches for the top to allow jambs space. Single doors need only two inches on the side and two inches on the top for the jambs.

Example: Double door 72" wide x 96" height would need a rough opening of 76" wide x 98" height where a single door 36" wide x 96" height would need a rough opening of 38" wide x 98" inches height.

Always ask our sales staff if your not sure of the sizes of the doors you need especially for homeowners. Most home builders, contractors, architects and interior designers know these size calculations based on their trade experience.

Most models from our entrance doors collection are impact resistant with approval certification.
