Impact-resistance codes have been established in states like Florida where hurricanes are a regular seasonal hazard. In order for a door to be designated impact-resistant, it must be subjected to certain stress tests against wind and water with laboratory generated hurricane force winds. Deco Design Center is one of the few custom door designers qualified to create impact-resistant doors with a complete set of approval notices "NOA". All Deco Design Center impact doors, both in solid wood or aluminum with hand forged designer iron grills, are approved for use in High Velocity Hurricane Zones. Some Door manufactures only offer Florida impact approvals but this will get denied in hurricane zones such as South Florida. Deco Design Center impact double entry doors can be used and will be approved in any city in Florida and elsewhere.

Even without impact-resistance certification, Deco Design Center custom double entrance doors are able to provide solid protection and durability with their mahogany hardwood that they use. They can be made from their solid mahogany and comes in 1 3/4", 2 1/4" or even 2 1/2" inches thick, and those with glass panels or inlays are fortified with impact-resistant uvekol glass.
